Story
Niamh Ashleigh Riley, an extremely beautiful, intelligent and compassionate young girl, who loved to be outdoors committing herself to challenging sporting activities, often with her big brother Lee. With her loving personality Niamh created a large group of friends and loved taking care of the family Greyhound, Sophie.
Last year my family and I tragically lost our much loved Niamh, following her hard fought battle with Leukaemia. She is deeply and profoundly missed.
In Niamh's memory, I am cycling the country end to end over a period of ten days, starting from John O’Groats and finishing in Lands End, supported by my dad, a tent and a selection of 'Niamh's Beads' to get me to the end.
The funds raised will be donated to the truly inspiring charity; ’Be Child Cancer Aware’ to support their sponsored UK programme ’Beads of Courage’ - In conjunction with the Maria Watt Foundation.
Beads of Courage is a unique programme designed to help children cope with serious illness and treatments by adopting arts through medicine. Encouraging children to communicate with others throughout their journey.
I sincerely ask you to support me in my journey and the Beads of Courage programme by donating as much as you can. Your money will help raise awareness for the charities and help parents across the UK to better understand the symptoms of the child cancers.
I have also created a blog: niamhsbeads.wordpress.com to let people know about the solo supported charity bicycle ride I am doing this summer in the Niamh’s memory.
