Story
Myself (Nick) and my wife (Emma) tragically lost our baby Daisy on the 21st Feb 2011. Daisy died in the final stages of labour despite being a low risk and seemingly uncomplicated pregnancy. What was meant to be a joyous welcome for our first born child has turned into a nightmare that has devastated us as parents and our family and friends.
SPRING have been fantastic in supporting us in coming to terms with our loss as individuals and as a family. They not only provide counselling and support services, but provided facilities at the maternity hospital that enabled us to spend two precious nights with Daisy to bond as a family. We are still in our early stages of recovery but having the support of SPRING has provided a foundation that we can begin to rebuild ourselves.
SPRING are a local charity in Poole that supports families such as ours going through neonatal grief. They are looking to increase the number of mid wife trained counsellors to support more families that have or gone through similar tragedies as ourselves. As part of the fund raising effort myself, family and friends will be running the 10K Bournemouth Bay run in memory of Daisy. For me this is a positive and tangible contribution we can make to SPRING and to the memory of our beautiful baby Daisy.
So please dig deep and donate now. We thankyou all for your support and love you have shown us at this difficult time.
