Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page on behalf of the Langdon Foundation.
As you probably know, I've been supporting Langdon for several years with their annual bike rides.
Remember that unlike other charity bike rides, riders pay the full cost of the trip so your donation goes only to the charity, and not to pay for what is, if I'm honest, a cycling holiday with my friends.
This year we are riding across Provence, and I have set myself an additional challenge - to climb Mt Ventoux three times in one day by each of the three roads up. This means something like 70 km of climbing at an average gradient of 7% (That roughly equivalent to going up Muswell Hill 110 times). I honestly don't know if I will make it, even if the weather conditions are good.
Anyway, that's all by the by. What's really important is that I raise £1250.00 for Langdon. Over the years I have been supporting this wonderful charity they have grown and grown, including the opening of a new residential community in Borehamwood last December. But perhaps it is the small things that really tell you what this charity is all about. Last Autumn two of Langdon's college students, Shoshi Finn and Ed Sholem got married. Without Langdon they would have expected to live "at home" for their entire lives. This is why Langdon exists - to give people with learning disabilities the same opportunities in life as the rest of us.
The demand for Langdon's services far outstrip their capacity to support people they would like to help. Thank you for your donation that will contribute to the great work Langdon does.
