17 years have passed since we lost our beautiful daughter, Gemma at 17 years old. The realisation that we have survived the same number of years without her as we were gifted with her, was enough for me to get up and do something positive.

I have entered, with my good buddy Pete, the Worcester Classic Bike Ride. We will be pedalling for 55 miles, no mean feat for my chicken legs.  All monies raised will go to Edwards Trust, a wonderful charity which supports families who have suffered the devastating loss of a child. They shared our grief and stayed by our side through those dark, early times and gave us hope for the future. We owe them a huge debt of gratitude.

Gemma's love of life, sense of fun and unshakeable optimism will, as always, be with me on this ride which takes place on 12 July 2015.
