Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In October 2014 after feeling unwell for a few months Dennis received the terrible news that he had inoperable stage 4 cancer of the oesophagus which had spread to his liver.

We were hopeful that a course of chemotherapy would be able to shrink the tumour and give him many more months with us. However due to aggressive nature of the cancer he was unable to proceed with chemo.

On 21 January 2015, just one day after turning 65, he was admitted to Woodlands Hospice. We were all scared by this as we didn't know what would happen next. The plan was to manage his symptoms and send him home again. But again this wasn't to be. Sadly Dennis passed away at 6.25 on 3 March 2015.

We can't praise or thank the staff at Woodlands enough. They do an amazing job and every patient is treated with dignity and respect. And the support they offer the families is second to none.

There is a Tree Of Life in the reception area which is a site to behold, and our aim is to raise enough money to have Dennis's name added to a leaf on the tree and with your support we can easily achieve this.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.
