Cry in the Dark is a marvellous charity performing Christian work in the impoverished areas of North East Romania. They have three projects; the first being an orphange that looks after 22 young people with varying degrees of disabilities, learning difficulties and life limiting illnesses. This was the founding project of Cry in the Dark which was the result of a visit of CEO Steve Cooper to a state run institution. Observing the horrendous conditions, he couldn't turn his back on the children he had witnessed.

The second project is a two fold operation. From Casa Albert a team of medical staff and social workers go into the poor community around the city of Bacau caring for children with severe disabilities and life limiting illnesses; care that is not provided from the welfare system in Romania. Casa Albert also acts as a Day Care Centre for these same children, providing activities twice a week and respite care for their families.

Through the outreach provided by Casa Albert, Cry in the Dark have come across a Roma village that has no basic facilities, no running water and appalling sanitary conditions. The charity has vowed to make conditions much more favourable, providing running water and hopefully a community centre in the future.

Two years ago I too witnessed the work of Cry in the Dark and was amazed at the difference this charity has made on so many lives. The work out there is continuous and the need for both volunteer work and finances is essential. This is why I am going out as part of a team in August to provide that help they desperately need. Of course this trip needs the finances to support it so I am asking you to prayerfully consider making a donation as we seek to provide Christ's work on this mission.
