Story

Now as most of you will know, you are very unlikely to see me run unless it's towards food.

However, I've decided to run my first ever half marathon (gulp) on the 2nd of October 2016 in the hope of fundraising for the Welsh Refugee Council. As the plight of refugees is an issue I feel particularly strongly about, I chose  an organisation that does amazing work supporting refugees and promoting positive perceptions of migration across Wales.  They rely on a specialist approach, where one-to-one contact is provided, where the improvement of the lives of those seeking sanctuary is a priority and where the drive to influence policy and best practice is unfailing. Their projects include the Move-On Project, the Women's Asylum Support Project, Family Support, Women Get Active Project and efforts to support unaccompanied asylum seeking children.

I am really excited to face this monstrous challenge which will be the equivalent of me running from my room to the fridge about 2,000 times.
