The O.T & Watermead Ward Staff Teams at the Bradgate Unit are putting two teams of colleagues in to the LPT Staff 5-a-side Football Tournament (July 23rd 2016). The tournament is a fund raising event to raise money to buy sports and exercise equipment for patients at the Bradgate Mental Health Unit.

If £500 can be raised by the O.T Bradgate Team (Jolly Green Giants!) and Watermead Ward (Watermead Wombles!) towards the appeal, Sam (T.L.W) will dress up and play as a 'Football Fairy' in the tournament!

The whole tournament fundraising aim is to raise £3,000 towards the purchase of a new Recumbent Exercise Bike for the unit Gym. This bike will enable those with physical disabilities to engage with aerobic exercise.

Money raised will also be spent on buying sport and exercise equipment for the eight wards at the Bradgate Unit. This will include Footballs, Magnetic Darts sets, Badminton sets & Speed and Agility sets to name a few items on the 'wish list'.

Staff from the O.T team are raising money towards patient care at the Bradgate Unit, as they recognise that improving the availability of equipment to engage patients in physical activity will help the patients along their personal recovery journey. Hopefully, giving them the motivation to engage in physical and meaningful activity upon discharge.
