I had a plan to do this walk

With a good and faithful friend.

We'd walked many paths together

She was loyal to the end.

Sadly, she has passed away

And I thought I wouldn’t go,

But she will be looking down on me

And willing me to know.

Know that I am in her heart

As she will always be in mine,

Know that she will always be with me

For every travelled mile. 

So I will do this walk with Benji,

The lazy foster brother,

And I will hope for his co-operation

For he's not an exercise lover.

With every step along the way

My thoughts will be with her,

The heartfelt pain of her loss

Will be felt forever more. 

But this walk is to help others,

Those that are not cherished as she was,

Please sponsor our great efforts 

Because rescue comes at a high cost.
