Story

Hello friends, as the title suggests I am running a marathon.  I am doing this for two reasons:

I like running. (Not a big deal)

To raise some money for charity. (A very big deal indeed!)

The charity  I am running for also pays my wage...thought I had better declare my interest!

The Globe Players have taken Shakespeare into schools for 50 years this year, giving thousands of children every year access to top quality live theatre; for some of these children, the only exposure they will ever get.

In the grand scheme of things....Shakespeare will not re-home or feed anyone however, it can help to offer a different perspective to children......and as Churchill himself observed...”If we had cut funding to the arts during the 2nd world war, what exactly was it we were fighting for?”

The Globe Players inspire young minds through high quality professional theatre in schools. They rely on external funding to subsidize productions of the highest quality every year for thousands of children regardless of economic background. For many this is their only experience of live theatre.
