Rather than accept any wedding gifts, Alex & I felt there was so much we could do simply by asking our friends and family to help us collect funds for the European Refugee Crisis, through Trócaire, the overseas development agency of the Catholic Church in Ireland.
An average of ten people a day have died attempting to reach Italy, Greece and Spain by sea in the last year. We realised that if every guest donated €15 towards Trócaire's European Refugee Crisis appeal, we could hope to raise our target of €1000 for those refugees who have risked everything to escape the death and destruction in Syria. Please don't give to us - give to them.
