Story
The Roundhouse
Young people are facing a tough future. 41% of children within the borough of Camden are living in poverty, and according to the Department of Education, as of February 2015, 25% of young people in London aged 16-24 are currently classified as not in education, employment or training.
In a climate of high youth unemployment but with a rapidly growing creative sector the Roundhouse gives thousands of 11-25 year-olds the chance to develop their skills and confidence through music, performing arts and media projects. We believe in the power of creativity to change lives and we have a particular focus on those who have been excluded, marginalised or disadvantaged by society.
Through projects at the Roundhouse we are able to help young people find pathways back into education, work or simply to enjoy a wider cultural life.
The Roundhouse needs to raise £3 million a year to fund this work. Any donation small or large is greatly appreciated:
£5 could pay for 5 hours of free rehearsal space for an emerging artist to work on their own creative projects
£25 could pay for a year's membership for a young carer to get out of the house and explore their creativity at the Roundhouse
£50 could pay for a young person not in education, employment or training at attend a careers session to help them build aspirations for their future
£150 could pay for a project targeting London's most disadvantaged and isolated young people.
