Story

Please note that 100% of the funds raised on this page will go to the field. None goes towards paying for the trek.

A group of us HAVE WALKED walked across Kerinci Seblat National Park, Sumatra picking up tiger snares as we go.

The route was varied, lots of 'a little bit up', then less of the dowwwwwnn , along animal paths and through thick vegetation. It was hot and humid - we barely needed to wee! We were soaked with sweat, sick and elated.

It was the most thought provoking time of my life. I learnt masses and most importantly we removed the terrible snares which are killing these tigers every day. Sadly we were 3 months too late for one.

For many years I have supported tiger conservation in Sumatra and WVI currently has a project training vets and field biologists in wildlife medicine, collecting good biomedical data and mitigation.

As we were accompanying anti poaching patrols, half of the funds raised to the Tiger Conservation and Protection Unit in Kerinci Seblat National Park. I shall be collecting these funds through WVI.

Spurred on by some key friends I coordinated a series of fundraising events over the past 12 months. I have one more talk to give and would love to raise enough to make it a round £6,000 raised.

HUGE thank you to those who have already sponsored me and helped out at events.
