Story
On September 10th 2016 we will participate on a sponsored row organised by Camila's school (Kingston Grammar) for the purpose of raising money for youngminds.org.uk and the KGS Foundation.
We will row 70km down the River Thames from Henley Rowing Club to Kingston Grammar School Boat Club in Thames Ditton. This super-human family achievement will take us over 12 hours to complete (at least to the veterans). There will be over 40 boats and more than 100 rowers participating!
YoungMinds is the UK’s leading charity committed to improving the emotional wellbeing and mental health of children and young people.
They provide expert knowledge to professionals, parents and young people through their Parents' Helpline, online resources, training and development, outreach work and publications.
We know requests for sponsorship are many, but we would be grateful for any donation, no matter how small.
Many Thanks
Pablo, Cira and Camila Carbajal
We are delighted to be supported by alumnus James Cracknell (OK 1990).
Here's what he says... "On Saturday 10 September pupils from my old school, Kingston Grammar School, along with parents, former pupils and members of KGSVBC will be rowing 70k in a day to raise money for the charity Young Minds and the KGS Boatclub.
The 2k races you see at the Olympics are tough but the pain only lasts for less than six minutes. Seventy kilometres in a day is a real marathon - in fact, it's two! This is especially tough if you’re not a regular rower as is the case with some of the people taking on the challenge of rowing from Henley to Thames Ditton on the 10th.
A tremendous amount of effort will be put in by the rowers and the multitude of people who help make the event possible so please do support us"
