Hospice at Home West Cumbria provided such wonderful care for my husband Michael (or maybe you knew him as Mike or Mick, depending on the stage of his life at which you met him). They enabled him to spend his final days at home with me and our children and supported us all through the saddest and most difficult time of our lives. I'll always appreciate their dedication and sensitivity and the difference they made. They've done the same for so many local families and I want to help them continue to do so.

Last year I walked the 84 miles of Hadrian's Wall path to raise funds for them and, thanks to the generosity of everyone who so kindly sponsored me, managed to raise over £800. That was my first ever long distance walk. This year I'm going to attempt a bigger challenge, walking from coast to coast, a distance of nearly 200 miles. I'll be setting out on Wednesday 26th June from St Bees on the Irish Sea and hope to reach Robin Hood's Bay on the North Sea on Thursday 11th July. I'm going to be walking with 4 good friends whose company and encouragement will hopefully help me keep going. I'd really appreciate it if you would also consider offering support by sponsoring me.
