Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
These days, in my head I think I am still in my 20s but a while ago, diagnosis of high blood pressure etc etc meant I had to admit the obvious - I am not. Eventually, I decided to take myself in hand and get fit so I found a personal trainer called Phil Sims. He has been a massive support and although I am still far from being slender, I am slowly but surely becoming fit. I even started doing a bit of running. And then decided I needed a goal. Something to go for.
I have to confess I had always sneered at the idea of the Wolf Run (http://thewolfrun.com ). I am now having to eat my words because I have signed up to do it and am genuinely worried about how on earth I am going to finish it. But I needed a goal to aim for so I could ... well anyone who has sat through my lectures on goal setting will know why.
And I decided to make this a fund raising event in aid of the charity Shuktara. Set up by David Earp who suddenly gave up running the stall opposite mine on Portobello and went off to make a positive difference to the world. And boy what a difference he has made. It's all here http://shuktara.org . I don't have his courage but I can try and raise money for this great organisation. I am told that the school fees for the young adults cared for is £70 a month. Since I'm in the education business, I thought I would try to raise enough for them to study for 6 months.
