Story
As many of you are aware dad sadly passed away suddenly on Sunday 20th April 2014.
In November 2013 Dad fell down the stairs and broke his neck. He was told he wouldn't walk for at least another year, and they weren't even sure if he would ever properly be able to walk again. With sheer determination and the support from his family, friends, and the staff and patients on the Avon Ward at the Duke of Cornwall's Spinal Unit, dad walked out of the hospital three months later; without the aid of his wheelchair or walking stick.
In his memory we would like to support the Southern Spinal Injuries Trust (SSIT) who help to raise money to provide extra equipment to patients cared for at the Duke of Cornwall Spinal Treatment Centre. The Trust also benefits people with spinal cord injuries living in the South and South West of England by funding essential equipment which helps them to lead an independent life.
Thank you to everyone for all your kind messages of support since Dad's passing it's so heartwarming to know he was loved by so many.
Dad's Funeral is on Friday 2nd May 2014, at 2.00pm, at the Southampton Crematorium, East Chapel. Please bring a rose to place on his coffin.
