This isn't going to be such an easy ride for me. Some of my 'fans' know, I was knocked off my bike in April by a careless driver opening their car door - I was laid up for a couple of months and was itching to get back on my bike, back out running etc. Sadly, my planned race around Lake Geneva was out of the question, but this will be a good alternative! Standing and walking are still uncomfortable, let alone running, but I must be thankful that cycling, and any exercise non-impact, causes no pain!
I would also like to say how immensely proud Lynne and I are of our daughter-in-law to be, Cara Norman, who works for Teach First, and does such a great job in raising their profile - indeed it was her that persuaded me this was a good idea!
So, training is going well, and I'm back up to nearly 100km rides (this is 170ish), so making good progress, even if my speed/strength isn't where I would like it to be.......
