Story
Hi,
My name is Paul Myers and I am going to be cycling from Calais in France to Chamonix (545 miles) to the foot of Mont Blanc on the French/Italian border. From here I will abandon my push-iron and don crampons and begin my 2 day ascent of Mont Blanc on a route known as the Gouter Route. I hope to reach the summit of the highest mountain in Europe at 6.30am on the 20th of September 2015.
I am doing this particular trek for The Yorkshire Children's Trust because today we live in a world full of charities that use 95% of received donations to cover costs and overheads, leaving only only 5% to reach the desired beneficiaries. Yorkshire Children's Trust donate 90p of the pound to the person(s) in need and this is a charity that helps seriously ill children and their families in Yorkshire. They offer financial assistance to help cover costs of travel and accommodation (when treatment for specific illnesses is miles from home) and also for any modifications to the home and specialist equipment that may not be available on the NHS.
All of this is to make a poorly child's life more bearable. Is there a better cause on the planet?
I have always said Yorkshire people are the salt of the Earth so please donate to help our next generation of Yorkshire Men and Women who haven't had the best of starts.
Dig deep and be safe in the knowledge that 90% of the money you donate WILL go to the places it is needed the most.
