A long held ambition is to climb to the top of Africa. Recently a close friend of mine was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease. If I can find a fraction of the courage, tenacity and determination he has shown since his diagnosis I'm sure I can make it to the top. If I can also help raise some much needed funds for SITraN's research into potential treatments that will make the trip even more fulfilling. Please note I have personally funded the whole cost of the trip so every penny donated will go to fund further research into MND as well as related conditions such as Parkinson's, Alzheimer's and Dementia.

SITraN is the Sheffield Institute for Translational Neuroscience, a world class Research Institute based at the University of Sheffield, dedicated to advancing the understanding of the causes of motor neuron injury and translating this knowledge into curative therapies for patients with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) and Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA), Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s and Dementia. The establishment of SITraN in Sheffield offers the opportunity for a co-ordinated approach to the development and clinical trialling of new therapies.
