Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In September I will take on my biggest walking challenge to date, the three Highest Peaks in England, Wales & Scotland (Scafell Pike, Snowdon & Ben Nevis). This walk covers 28 miles and 3000m of height gain and loss. All within 24 hours. I'm walking with a team from across WHSmith High Street head office, most of whom have not done much walking in the mountains before.
The beneficiaries of the Fundraising are (equally) the WHSmith Trust and Save the Children.
The WHSmith Trust has two key objectives:
- To support the local communities in which WHSmith staff and customers live and work; and
- To support education and lifelong learning, helping people of any age to achieve their educational potential.
The bulk of our funding goes towards projects to promote literacy, working in partnership with WHSmith PLC and the National Literacy Trust. Research findings show that children who read for pleasure have significantly better life chances than those who don’t. Over 30,000 children have taken part in our literacy projects since 2010. Each year, the trust makes donations to hundreds of schools across the UK to enable them to improve their library facilities.
Please help us to raise money for these important charities and make a difference to the lives of Children in this country and abroad.
Any donation is gratefully received.
Paul
