Paul Turner
As a former Royal Marine Paul is no stranger to hard physical exercise, and is taking part in the London2Brighton challenge over the weekend 28/29 May 2016. Following a debilitating illness in 2010 Paul pushed himself early on to regain some level of fitness, but unfortunately due to eyesight, balance and coordination problems walking is now the only physical activity he can actively take part in. Before his illness the last event Paul completed was the 2009 UK Ironman, and he still wants the challenge of taking part in tough physical activities.
Paul will be unable to complete this particular challenge without help and will need a guide walker to help him. For this event Paul's guide walker will be Chris Jones, who has been joining Paul for the early morning (6 am) training walks.
The London2Brighton route can be followed from the link below if anyone would like to come and support Paul and Chris on the day.

Paul is raising money for the Quicken Trust, a Sussex-based charity which is transforming the lives of people living in poverty in the Ugandan village of Kabubbu. This summer Paul will travel there with a group of volunteers, who will all be involved in helping the people of this small community. The Quicken Trust works in partnership with a range of organisations around the UK and worldwide. Paul's costs for the trip have already been paid, so all the money raised through sponsorship from this event will go direct to the charity.
