I have supported the amazing work of Brighter Future for several years now.  My wife Louise visits the children's homes and leprosy colonies run by the small team in India every year, and cannot speak highly enough of the difference being made to men, women and children affected by leprosy, HIV, disability and desperate poverty.

Brighter Future cares for around 180 children, many of whom are orphans or are found living rough at local railway stations.  The team also runs a small hospice, and a nutrition and medication programme  - providing food for widows with HIV and people who are too disabled to work.

They really believe in giving people living in poverty the chance to become independent.  A tailoring training centre for young women who have not had the chance to go to, or complete school is equipping hundred of women with the skills for a future every year.  Brighter Future also runs a small loan programme to help people to set up a small business such as growing and selling vegetables.

The great news is that because the UK arm of the charity is run entirely by volunteers, 95p in the £ goes straight to people in need.  You won't find that anywhere else!
