Story
This page is dedicated to the memory of Amanda Cockle.
Amanda very sadly lost her battle to cancer on Monday 23rd February 2015, aged just 34 years old. Amanda leaves behind her devoted husband Robert, two beautiful boys Matthew and Luke, an amazing family and incredible friends.
Amanda was an inspiration to many people due to the way she battled courageously without complaint or bitterness. She always had a smile on her face and her bubbly personality shone through even on days when she wasn't feeling well. It's difficult to convey to people who didn't know her how special Amanda was, but those that knew her know that she was unique and will have a special place in our hearts forever.
A true example of Amanda's selflessness and sheer tenacity is reflected in the fact that whilst she was suffering from this cruel disease she still gave up her time to volunteer at the Tamworth Wellbeing & Cancer Support Centre to help others in a similar situation to hers. I don't think she realised how many people she did actually make a difference to but she truly did. She inspired me personally on a daily basis with the way she handled everything that was thrown at her. She loved her time at the centre and was passionate about the charity thriving and continuing to offer support to people. This is why the family have asked me to set up this Just Giving page in memory of Amanda, to fulfil her wishes. As a charity we are touched and honoured to be linked to Amanda's memory in this way.
Tamworth Wellbeing & Cancer Support Centre offers support to people affected by cancer and other chronic illnesses. It is not just for people who actually have an illness but for the family members too. We offer a wig fitting and styling service, bra fitting and prosthetics, craft therapy, holistic therapies, support groups, a healthy juice/smoothie bar, a library or just a friendly chat.
