Event: Plymouth Breakwater Swim, on 21 August 2017
We fund nurses, equipment & treatments to help men with prostate cancer.

Story

The Chestnut appeal is a local Plymouth charity that raises awareness of prostate cancer and is specifically trying to fund an MRI Fusion scanner that will make a huge difference in the diagnosis and management of this condition.

This appeal has even more meaning to me since losing my dear Dad very suddenly in June this year. His untimely death was unrelated to the prostate cancer that he had lived with for the last two years but he knew that I wanted to support the charity to improve early diagnosis for others.

Hopefully by the time I do the swim, the training will have paid off and I wont be the one at the back doing "Old Lady Breaststroke"! I have a 'warm up' swim to Drakes Island on the 7 August and then the big event on the 21 August.

PS -  no wetsuit planned......
