Story

Anyone who knows me well knows that I have an extreme fear of heights. Those same people will also know that I am truly passionate about animal welfare. Sometimes your love must trump your fear in order to accomplish great things for what you believe in.

That is why I am setting out to raise £500 by taking on the RSPCA Chesterfield & North Derbyshire Branch's Abseil Challenge. My word to you is that if you help me reach my £500 goal, I will do everything in my power to get myself over the edge of that 9-storey building (which makes me woozy just typing those words). If, for some reason, my fears get the better of me and I can't physically complete the Abseil Challenge, I will make the £500 donation toward the Rebuild Appeal.

I am not doing this because I am the Chair of the Board of Trustees and feel I should. I am doing this because I truly believe in the future of this organisation and I want to show North Derbyshire how important I know this charity is to the region by taking on this challenge.

I hope you will all join me in showing support for the Chesterfield Animal Centre by making any size donation you feel comfortable making. Or, if you want to stretch to your limits like I'm doing, why not dig just that little bit deeper? With friends like you behind me, I am confident I will be able to face this lifelong fear of mine and help make a difference for animals in need. Thank you so much for your generosity!
