Story
Camino of the Canals; a tow path pilgrimage
Lying in my hospital bed in Liverpool Royal Infirmary in February 2010, being cared for and sustained by costly and technically advanced techniques and medicines, administered by doctors and nurses from many parts of the world, made me think about how different my fate would have been if I had been living in one of the many countries with insufficient resources to carry out the operation or provide the medicines, or where there was a war.
Four years later so many countries are in the grip of vicious wars and violence that the work of Doctors of the World is even more necessary. Many people supported the Camino at the time, so the page remains open to anyone who would like to continue to support Doctors of the World, and the spirit of a lifelong Camino.
