Story
As many of you know, each year I travel down to Lourdes, at the base of the Pyrenees, and have the privilege of caring for and having a good time with the sick, disabled and elderly of the Salford Diocese. As this is my 25th year of going to Lourdes, I have decided to do some fundraising and make this year a little extra special.
I have been invited to fundraise with the Children's and Families groups' biennial cycle from Salford Cathedral to Lourdes (just the 830+ miles). It seems appropriate, as this fantastic group will be celebrating their 10th year this coming pilgrimage. The group originally set up with just 4 families and this year 63 children will be joining the Salford family. If you would like to find out more about the group you can view a video that was made on you tube at https://youtu.be/DI404IKvkWc
So 3 months ago I bought my first bike (I did have one growing up but didn't buy that myself) and have been trying to become one with the machine. The challenge is a little daunting and I hope the body holds up but it is a worthy cause and Lourdes is a special place for me, and many who have visited before. (I would hope so, as I will have nearly spent half a year of my life in Lourdes.)
All donations will go to help special needs/disabled children, with their families, get to Lourdes and enjoy a wonderful experience.
