Story

Thanks for visiting my page and having a look at what I'm intending to do and, more importantly, why.

As you'll have gathered I'm cycling from John O'Groats to Lands End between Friday 27th April and Sunday 13th May 2012. It's quite a long way - somewhere around 900 miles - and just a little daunting. As I write this in March 2012 I'm planning to do it on my own, but if anybody fancies coming along for some or all of it, I'd appreciate the company!

I'm doing it to raise money for Cornwall Wildlife Trust. Its the Trust's 50th Anniversary this year and there's never been a more important time to support Cornwall Wildlife Trust and their work in protecting the environment.

Ten years ago my wife Anna and I were lucky enough to move to Cornwall, just before the birth of our first child. It seems almost a fairytale that both our children, Barney and Bryony, have been able to grow up surrounded by some of the most beautiful places in the land - wild seas, sunny beaches, windswept moors and wooded creeks - and the amazing wildlife that lives here.

I want them and other people, now and in the future, to be able to enjoy these things as well, and Cornwall Wildlife Trust is key to making this happen. Their tireless campaigning and working behind the scenes to protect our wild places helps to ensure that wildlife has a voice as the pressure mounts in these uncertain times and the balance between the economy and our environment is harder to maintain.

So, please give as much as you feel able. Even better become a member of Cornwall Wildlife Trust. I have to raise around £500 to cover my costs (accommodation, food etc) but everything above this will go directly to Cornwall Wildlife Trust.

I'll be thanking you for making it worthwhile as every turn of the pedals brings me closer to home.

Have a look at these websites for more information:

http://www.cornwallwildlifetrust.org.uk/

https://www.facebook.com/PhilHillsJogle2012
