Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

It was, and remains utterly devastating that Dad died quite unexpectedly last October after a 3 week illness at Somersham Ward, Ipswich Hospital.

I am running the Woodbridge 10K on Sunday the 17th May in memory of my wonderful Dad along with 3 friends;  Faye, Vic and Michael to honour the many years of Dad's involvement with the race via coordinating the British Red Cross First Aid Cover for the event.  Dad was often the last person out on the course in the Ambulance, following the very last 'runner' to ensure their safe arrival at the finish!

Dad was hugely community spirited and was adored by all who knew him- his calm demeanour and selflessness are qualities that make me immensely proud of the man he was. 6 months on we all miss Dad every single day. He would be delighted that I am (finally!) running the race and raising funds for The Friends of Somersham Ward Support Group who provide an invaluable support to families like mine. We were able to stay with Dad morning, noon and night thanks to the relatives room facilities provided solely by donations raised for the support group. For this we are eternally grateful.

Always with me Dada x❤️X❤️
