Story
In 2014 I participated in a school trip to Kenya in order to visit Rafiki Mwema, a therapeutic safe house that supports very young girls who have been sexually abused. The work that the Play Kenya charity does is phenomenal and touched the hearts of all of us who visited. The girls that are taken in by Rafiki Mwema are truly inspiring; despite their horrific and heart breaking pasts, they are the happiest and loveliest children I have ever met, welcoming us into their home with huge smiles and hearts, and teaching us songs and playing games with us. You would never be able to guess what they've each been through. All of this is possible because of the amazing work Play Kenya has done and continues to do. Because of this I am going to run a marathon in May in order to raise some money to donate to this wonderful charity, any support you can give to Play Kenya would be truly appreciated.
