Story
I am Swiss/German and have just started Medical School in the UK. I have been lucky enough to be born and raised in societies where healthcare is of top quality. All my life I have always gotten the best medical care, and I often unconsciously took this for granted.
I realised that unfortunately most people are not as fortunate as I am. I want to give back what I have recieved, and show my appreciation, by fundraising for 'The Little Things'; an organisation that aims to improve the quality of healthcare in developing countries. In light of the huge global inequalities, I feel this is a great way in which we can all contribute to making a difference, by giving some of what we have to those in need.
The money I am raising through your generous donations, will specifically go towards three new Projects in Sri Lanka. This includes the construction of a Pre-mature Babies Unit (PBU) as well as contributing to the renewal of a hospital which is lacking equipment and quality to treat the increasing amount of patients coming in daily. Lastly donations will support a newly built hospital that is currently lacking funds to be fully furnish and equipped.
My target for summer 2016 is ambitious and high but with the help of your donations I believe it can be reached - Every penny counts! If I reach my target I will climb Machu Picchu in August 2016 for The Little Things.
For more information on where your money is going check out 'The Little Things' website or contact me if you have questions
