We rescue and rehome labradors to provide them with a happy forever home

Story

5th April 2014. We are delighted to say that Basil has now found himself a new loving home. He is fully recovered from his illness and has proved himself to be a loving and very happy little chap, who has made himself fully at home in his new forever home.

Thanks you to all who donated and to all who have been following his story. WIthout you, there would not have been this happy ending.

2nd March, story update, scroll to end of story to read the latest news on Basil

Poor little Basil was saved from death row this week and was taken to rescue kennels to get him to safety.

However poor little Basil hasn't been doing very well in kennels and yesterday Basil was taken to the vets because he has been very sick.

Poor Basil is on a drip and is fighting for his life now:(
Basils vets bill has already come to way over £500 and vets are still yet to determine what is wrong with him. Many tests have been done and sent away for analysis and the results should all be back later next week. Meanwhile, he will stay at the vets as he is so very poorly.

Basil has been through so much in his short life already and we are all hoping that he will pull through , rest assured Basil is with a very good rescue who will do everything they possibly can to help save him.

This is an appeal to help raise the funds to pay Basils vets bills, if any one can spare even a £1 to help this poor baby please donate now.

Any help to help poor Basil will be most grateful

Many thanks

2nd March

Thank you so much to everyone who has donated to Basils fund. We have not had the final invoice from the vets yet, but we now know it will be in excess of £1000.

Basil wants to say thank you too and he had no idea just how many supporters he had out there. All the good vibes and messages really made him feel much better and helped him to make a speedy recovery.

He is now in one of our foster homes and is recovering from his ordeal. He does still have some anti biotics and other tablets to take and will have to visit the vet again to see how he is improving, but his fosterer tells us she feels he is almost back to normal and is becoming the inquisitve and happy little puppy he should be and deserves to be.

He has been a very good boy both for the vet and for his foster mummy.  He is such a loving and gentle little dog. Once he has fully recovered he will be looking for a new home.

If you would like to offer Basil a home then please do get in touch. Check out LRRSE web site for how to apply.  http://www.labrador-rescue.org.uk/index.html
