The Portman Estate office is supporting the work of the West London Day Centre. Helping homeless people off the streets and back into accommodation.
On 25 September staff and friends from the Estate office will be walking 20 miles from Enfield Lock back into Portman Square in London. This is the Estates annual charity walk collecting money through sponsorships to support the work with homeless people.
18 members of staff have already helped in the day centre serving breakfasts over five mornings one week in June. Others have helped clients find paid work with the employment support service. Five people raised money running in the British 10K London Run in July. The proceeds from a Charity Bake Off in Portman Square in July were also donated to the day centre as well as donations of furniture and a bicycle for a client.
