Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
By now, I'm sure you all know that on Valentine's Day 2009 whilst walking on Whernside, I slipped and fell 300ft, sustaining a head injury, 3 fractured ribs, many bumps and bruises and suffered mild hypothermia as it was snowy and very cold. There was no mobile phone signal and Jon had to leave me and go for help. 23 volunteers from the Cave Rescue Organisation were involved in my journey back down Whernside. In total the rescue used 120 volunteer hours. Their dedication and team working shone through, even to me in my state. In March 2010, I took part in my first Disney Princess Half Marathon and with your help raised £1000 with matching funds. Last year I took part again and again with your help raised £320.
This year, I decided I needed to up my challenge so I will be taking part in Disney's Royal Family 5k on Saturday 25 February, followed by again taking part in the Disney's Princess Half Marathon on Sunday 26 February.
Please help me raise more funds for the Cave Rescue Organisation. In 2011 they had their busiest year yet for rescues above and below ground. This is a charity which is run completely by volunteers who actually pay to be members of the CRO. To me they are the 4th emergency service receiving very little recognition for their work, I am honoured to raise funds on their behalf.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity. Also - any funds that I raise will be matched by my employer so whatever you can give will be doubled.
Thank you. x
