We give children a week on working farms to raise self esteem and confidence.

Story

Every year in the Spring Term Christ's Hospital pupils prepare to run the school steeplechase, which this year takes place on Thursday 12th March.

And every year we try and use this event to raise a significant sum for the chapel charity. Following on from Miles for Miles (2012), Miles for Meals (2013) and Quids for Kids (2014), this sponsored event allows the pupils to put their training runs to good use as they get themselves in shape.

Our chapel charities this year are:

Farms For City Children, the brainchild of the author Michael Morpurgo, providing urban children from all over the country a unique opportunity to live and work together on a real farm (http://farmsforcitychildren.org)

The Christina Noble Foundation, which works to relieve child poverty in Asia (https://www.cncf.org)

(Funds raised over the year will be divided between those two charities; the sum raised on this page is only a small part of a wider effort.)

We ask pupils to commit themselves to run a pre-arranged number of miles between half term and the steeplechase event. And we ask parents, grandparents, family friends (and other pupils) to sponsor them as they do so. As simple as that!
