Story
Why don't you help Jaime, Giovanni and Gabriel to make a better world? Act before 14th of December!
First:
Every pound you donate gets multiplied by 8*! Let's say you donate £25. We will match your donation (so your £25 are now £50). Then Jeremy and his foundation will match the £50 (check my blog to read about the fantastic blog the Jeremy Coller Foundation is doing). And then UK Aid (DFID) will match it again, so your £25 become £200! With that money we can provide water pumps to 12 communities in Zambia! (And that is without accounting for Gift Aid!)
But remember all the matching only takes place before 14th of December!
Second:
We are not going to soak ourselves in ice water in the middle of the winter, but we will try to be creative with the challenges we will undertake to raise awareness to this campaign. Keep visiting our blog, but among other things, we are going to:
- Run the Three Molehills challenge - 23 Nov (Catherine, Jue, Jaime)
- Run the Interfinancials Cross-Country - 26 Nov (Gabriel)
- Be Vegan for the first 14 days of December (Giovanni, Jaime). This is trickier than what it seems!
- Organize a vegetarian dinner on the 1st of December! (Gabriel, Jaime)
Third:
The cause is the most important thing. We are helping Concern to raise funds for the RAIN project in Zambia. Over 50% of children in the Mumbara district of Zambia suffer from chronic malnutrition, which has long-lasting, irreversible effect on the children development and their ability to survive or even learn. We are working with 3480 families to provide them with the education and tools to improve their agriculture techniques, and more importantly, diversify the crops they cultivate, so they can provide their children with the adequate micro-nutrients. Concern has been working in similar projects for more than 40 years, and they make sure that the effects are sustainable and long lasting. We are not giving a fish, but teaching to fish!
So be generous! Not everyday you get the chance to multiply by 8 the effects of your donations! And not everyday you have the chance to act where it is really needed!
And finally you can find here the blog,
http://eatnoteat.blogspot.co.uk/The blog will update on the status of our challenges, provide information about the RAIN project and comment on the ethical consequences of nutrition issues both in the developing world and in your doorstep!

* We will match up to 2500GBP, and the Jeremy Coller Foundation up to 5000GBP, so the first 2500GBP are multiplied by 8, and from 2500, they still double (matched by UK aid).
