Story
Following on from the success of the London to Brighton Ride in 2014, the Head office Team of pen pushers and bean counters wanted to push the boundaries even further.
On April 28th a team of 20 cyclists (plus two support drivers) will be riding from the Rentokil Head office in Camberley to Paris over three days. Our route will take us down to Portsmouth where we will catch an overnight ferry to LeHarve. Once we dock in France, we will continue our journey onto Paris with a stop over in the town of Evreux, before our final day of cycling onto the French Capital, Paris.
Within the team there are varying levels of cycling experience and competence, but for most of the group this will be a real physical challenge.
But why are we really doing it?
Malaria – the vital statistics
- Every year, malaria causes 214 million illnesses and is responsible for 438,000 deaths. That’s like the population of Edinburgh being wiped out every year.
- In 2015 over 300,000 African children died from malaria before reaching their fifth birthday.
- It costs just £1 for lifesaving treatment for a child and £5 to protect two people with a mosquito net.
Malaria No More are seeking to end the plight of Malaria within a generation. Please help us to end this entirely preventable disease by donating anything you can.
