We are taking to the footpaths and roads of Shropshire again, walking and cycling to raise money for Shropshire (and some Powys) Churches and Chapels of all denominations. Many of them need urgent help for essential repairs and renovations. In some of the more rural areas congregation sizes are small and it is becoming increasingly difficult to maintain these buildings. If we want to enjoy visiting and seeing these buildings in the landscape we all need to help a bit!

So please can you dig into your pockets again and make a donation, and by using Gift Aid the Goverment tops it up...it's not that often that we can get them to give it back to us is it? Great!

We are still the County Organisers for this Charity and have just been made Trustees which means we play a part in deciding which churches chapels receive The Trusts support. Last year we raised £26468 and we've set ourselves a target in Shropshire of £30000. Gulp!

In 2015 we had 209 Churches and Chapels open for our R+S day, many of which provided refreshments for weary travellers. A group of 20 of our friends joined us for a walking tour between 12 Churches in Shrewsbury and ending up having a  supper party in the garden at our home. A huge thank you goes to them for helping us to beat our personal target of £1000. Another huge thank you goes to all our other friends and family who sponsored us,  and here we are asking again! 

So please sponsor us if you can. We all appreciate churches for various reasons...aesthetic, religious, architectural interest or just a helpful spire to look for when we are lost on a walk!
