Story

Hi,my name is Ryan Spence.

I am passionate about sport, health and fitness, friends and family. I have never been intimidated or afraid of taking on a challenge or standing up for what I believe to be right.

I know that everyday thousands of Christians around the world face persecution simply for following Jesus and seeking to live out their faith. Being persecuted for my faith is not something I have experienced, so when I heard about this opportunity to take on Release’s abseil challenge, and potentially raise at least £1000 to support persecuted Christians – I WAS IN!!

I would love to raise as much as I can to help Christians imprisoned for their faith. People like Alimujiang Yimiti in China, who was arrested in January 2008, and sentenced to 15 years in prison. Alim’s two young sons have spent the last eight years without having their dad around. People like Twen, a fantastic Christian lady who has been imprisoned in Eritrea for more than 10 years. She was only 23 years old when she was first arrested.

These are only two people of out thousands of Christians imprisoned for their faith. Those thousands all belong to families. They are sons, daughters, husbands, fathers, wives, mothers, brothers or sisters. They deserve our support.

Please help me to help them

Ryan
