Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

I am sure that most of those who visit this page know that Rachel has been volunteering with Abingdon RDA since 1981.  When she met Donald, he already knew that involvement with RDA came as part of the package, and has supported the group in numerous ways over the years, including offering patience and understanding towards Rachel's commitment!

Times are tough for small charities, and Abingdon RDA has not escaped this reality.  The Zip Wire challenge is to raise essential running costs for the group, which is supporting almost 100 riders with 9 (should be 12 - we continue to look for three more!) horses and around 150 volunteers, and seeks over £90,000 each year to operate.  Take a look at our web page: www.rda-abingdon.org.uk

Donald and Rachel have walked to raise funds in the past - the full length of The Ridgeway and 2/3rds of the Thames Path (so far!), but this year we are pushing the comfort zone on 3rd July by taking on a Zip Wire!  We will be taking on the might of Titan in North Wales - a zip wire length of over 8,000m which reaches speeds of up to 70 mph.  Yikes!  Your financial support will give us the courage that we need to prevent us backing out on the day!

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving  - they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Many thanks for your support.
