We raise money to change lives for the poorest of the poor

Story

Hi! I am a trainee Clinical Scientist working across Central Manchester's Adult and Children's Intensive Care. I am volunteering in Malawi's Central Hospital and fundraising by doing a NAKED bike ride (with the help of some imaginative body paint to save what is left of my dignity)!

Malawi is one of the world’s least developed countries with very low life expectancies and high infant mortality. There is approximately 1 doctor for every 40,000 people! I have decided to volunteer in Malawi's Central Hospital for 5 weeks starting in June with the help of the charity Act4Africa - a health and education charity who promote gender justice for women and girls, equip them with life skills to be free from poverty, and combat HIV in Uganda, Tanzania and Malawi.

By volunteering here I hope to gain an understanding of healthcare in a less developed country and hopefully provide as much support as possible to the medical staff! Perhaps I can learn a thing or two about being resourceful too! I am therefore willing to bare all in an annual naked bike ride to gain support for both my volunteering and for the charity making it all happen!

Any donations would be greatly appreciated!
