Once upon a time, there was a group of adventurous and determined Rackers who wanted to give something back to the community surrounding our lovely EMEA HQ. It was decided that the Three Peaks Challenge should once more be undertaken. For those not familiar with the challenge, it involves climbing the three highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales within a 24 hour period, including driving time inbetween - a challenge not to be taken lightly as it requires a huge amount of strength, stamina, willpower and pure grit!
We are fundraising for Harlington Hospice, who are located a mere mile from our offices. They provide holistic care for adults with life-limiting or life-threatening illnesses within our local borough, as well as supporting their carers. They need to raise at least £150,000 to keep the hospice running each year, so our £3,000 will make a huge difference to them. Every donation, no matter how small or large is appreciated!
Our group of Rackers facing this enormous challenge in 2016 is: Abby Healey, Dimitar Filipov, Enzo Calogero, Gabby Rego, Hannah Taylor, Hollie Blake, Jake Ketterer, Janine McShane, Jordan Pritchard, Luke Wright, Matthew Johns, Shaun Marsden, Shweta Bist, Stephen Pegler, Syed Islam, Thomas Howe and Zoe Marinova.
They will be supported by a crack troupe of drivers: John McManus, Ben Paton, Maxim Rozin, Dave Hankins, Tony Jobson and Carina Hendrikx.
Training programs and fundraising activities have started in earnest and we look forward to ploughing through the pain and mountains to raise a serious amount of money for a great cause, and are very grateful for your donation.
Remember - if you're a UK tax-payer, please ensure you tick the Gift Aid checkbox so that Harlington Hospice can claim back the tax that you've already paid the Inland Revenue on your donation!
