Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page x
Here is my story & my dream:
I always really really wanted to run Prague Half Marathon & at the very same time never though I could actually do it (as in 'do it without dying half way through' sort of a do it, if you know what I mean)
It's only after now, after a month intensive workshop this summer, that I realise how much more strength and energy I have & how much I can do & so the time is 'Now' to give it a go and see if I can actually run 21k (!)
There's a part of me that's already freaking out a bit, and a part of me that's very much excited. On the whole, I think I can make it :)
I regularly run 5k for Cancer Research and once, quite some time ago I run 10k for Rainforest Foundation (man, that was hard! Six years later I still remember as if it was yesterday.) So yeah, this will the a Challenge and a half.
I'm also more of a 'summer runner' and training in the cold dark winter will significantly increase the challenge element of this...
So to make it all worth while, I decided to dedicate all this sweat and hard work to someone & making my choice was easy peasy no brainer - it had to be the London Buddhist Centre.
I love what it stands for, what it does for the local people and how the Buddhist businesses and communities shape this part of the East End, which I call my home.
On a personal level, I've got so much from the centre. I learned a lot and I re-shaped my view of myself and the world I live in, into a much richer, better balanced and much happier picture :)
So yeah, whatever I raise will go to the LBC. That's the plan x
Perhaps not all of you know, Alexander McQueen left the LBC some hundred grand in his will. I am aiming for half a grand :)
It shouldn't be that(!) hard - if all of my facebook friends give what they'd pay for a cup of coffee (£2), I'm already there x So don't be shy x You don't even need to dig deep. A couple of quid is all I'm asking for. And if you can and want to give more - great :) You are my SuperStar x
PS: I'll also need all the moral support I can get. So if you're local, put on your running shoes and come and join me one cold winter morning, ok :)
Also any tips, advice etc will be well appreciated x
