Mike Sweeney’s All Day Christmas Party
This December – we’re hosting an All Day Christmas Party on Real XS for a great cause! Mike Sweeney will be live on-air from 6am through to 7pm – with his longest programme ever!
On Friday 13 December, Mike will broadcast live from a secret location in Manchester City Centre with a variety of all day activities planned and loads of star guests we want you to be part of it!
But why are we doing it? It’s all to raise money for the amazing Francis House Children’s Hospice in South Manchester who provide end of life care for children and teenagers across Manchester and the North West.
The All Day Christmas Party will be the final part of our Power Of Music campaign and will raise funds to pay for a new music therapist at Francis House. Music therapy has a huge impact on the well-being of young people in hospices. It gives them the ability to express themselves and with a new music therapist, Francis House will be able to offer further music therapy treatment – and help more young people.
HOW CAN I BE INVOLVED?
Ahead of the All Day Breakfast on December 13, we want you to sign up to get involved in raising money for this amazing cause.
Are you part of a big office? Work in a pub or café? Or could your school take part? We want you to sign up and tell us what you’re going to do to raise the cash!
Maybe you could host an air guitar championship in your office? Or a rock and roll fancy dress day at school? Or could you have a ‘bring pound to work day’ in the factory?
Register below and we’ll tell you all the details of how to get involved – PLUS keep listening to find out how you can simply text and donate!
WHAT IS FRANCIS HOUSE?
Francis House Children’s Hospice has been providing end of life care and respite for children and young people with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions since it opened its doors in November 1991.
At its site in Didsbury, Manchester, the seven bedroom hospice supports families from all over the North West.
Often families need a break from their role as carers and children and young people need experiences to enrich their short lives, this is where Francis House helps. By providing support, comfort and care to the children and their families in the form of;
· Skilled nursing for children in a homely, happy and secure place
· An essential break for parents and for the rest of their families
· Giving friendship, encouragement and relief, enabling the whole family to return home refreshed
· A flexible service to suit the needs of the family, including home support and bereavement care
· Providing a lifeline by just being available day or night
Children are welcome to enter Francis House for the first time from the day they are born through to their 16 birthday – but once they’ve attended for the first time, they are welcome for the rest of their lives – with the oldest person currently using the house being 31.
