Story
Hi, I am running (limping, crawling - or something akin to this: http://giphy.com/embed/OiT71J2hBkLE4) the Hackney half in aid of an amazing charity called ADVANCE in London that supports women and children affected by domestic abuse as well as women in the justice system.
Referrals to the charity are increasing and we never want to turn a woman away so we need more frontline staff. Despite the charity's success in securing public funds – last year we secured a contract from three west London boroughs – maintaining sufficient funding to reach all the women that need support remains a constant challenge. I would really appreciate any support you could give. So you know where your money is going: £2 supports a woman to make her first call to Advance. £5 allows us to do a full investigation into her situation, so we can get her all the right help. £10 supports a woman to attend group work so she can receive peer support & move on with her life. £35 helps pay for a woman to get help in a crisis & create a plan to keep safe. £50 provides longer term support, such as help with the criminal justice system, and referral to a refuge. £100 helps keep our helpline going for a whole week.
