Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As most of you know I've taken the absolutely mad decision to cycle the 170 miles of Hadrain's wall cycleway in 3 days. I've always enjoyed cycling but never taken it overly seriously and then as a lot of you know, last year was a very difficult time for me after developing seizures and being unable to work until I knew what was going on. During this period I had to give up my driving licence and decided to sell my car. With this money I decided to upgrade my bike to a road bike and this is where it all started really. Then in September I finally got a diagnosis of epilepsy and finally felt I could get back to normal and this is when I decided that I wanted to have something tangible to aim for, so this was why I decided to take up this challenge. I have been training for this since September and at this point I want to apologise to my friends and family for completely boring them about bikes, bike clothing and cycling training.
During this difficult period last year I can't thank people enough for the support and friendship that they offered me.

The reason I have chosen the Bateman's trust is that they do amazing things for children in India, to help give them an education and achieve everything they are capable of. If you would like more information please follow the link to their website http://www.batemans.org.uk . The other reason I have decided to do this for the Bateman's trust is that the founder of the charity and her family did so much for me during this difficult period in my life. They gave me the support so that I could stay in my home and continue to try and keep my life as normal as possibe and if I had a seizure they gave me the incredible support of staying in their home until I was safe to be on my own again. They were also just there for a cup of tea and chat if I was having a bad day. So as well as doing this bike ride for an incredible charity it is my way so saying thank you for the incredible support I received during this difficult time.

So if you feel that you are able to donate anything, however small, it will be extremely appreciated and even if you feel you are unable to do this just knowing I have your support will help me complete this challenge.
