We are raising funds to get Romeo from a homeless life in Turkey to the UK to find his forever family.

Romeo is a handsome Golden Retriever living in Turkey.  His story begins in November 2014 when some friends heard of a sweet boy living in the Marmaris dog shelter. While the shelters do what they can for homeless dogs, it is no place for a Golden Retriever, these dogs are too sweet natured to defend themselves in a pack situation.

Romeo was lucky, he was taken to the Neilson Adakoy hotel and lived a great life as the hotel dog.  He has been loved and nurtured and is a very sweet and loving boy. 

With the sad decline in the tourist industry this year, the hotel has closed, leaving Romeo alone.  He is being fed but his future is lonely.

Despite a well-supported Facebook campaign, we have been unable to find Romeo a home in Turkey.  And then I heard of Happy Paws. 
This is a UK charity who rescue Golden Retrievers from countries like
Turkey who are living in shelters or on the streets. They get them safely to the UK and find them great new families to be their forever homes.

With great thanks to the kindness of Happy Paws, Romeo has the chance of a new life. He will start the long process for the journey to the
UK.  He will be fostered here while his paperwork is prepared, which takes around 4 months. He will then travel to the UK and placed with a specially chosen family.

The cost for vaccinations and travel is extremely high and a real challenge for Happy Paws to achieve, around £1400 (1900 USD) for each dog.  There are hundreds of Golden Retrievers who need their help, so I am committed to raising as much of the costs for Romeo as I can, with your help.

Any donation would be so gratefully received, and gets Romeo one step closer to the forever family he deserves.
