Story
There are a lot of stories to tell working as Coordinator of Income Generating Skill Programme at The Foundation for Mother and Child Health Indonesia, or it is called also Yayasan Balita Sehat. It has been my privilege to be part of this foundation and to support the works to achieve our goals (http://www.fmch-indonesia.org/our-work/). FMCH Indonesia is not just a workplace where the adults start to face the reality, work life... but you can also call it a second home. All the people at FMCH have been so welcoming since day one I started to work here, from the founders, managements, colleagues, volunteers and the families we are working with.
I was jut a fresh grad with limited experience about NGO when I applied this job. That made me worried whether I could take these big responsibilities to manage the team and the works to achieve the goals... But my colleagues, whom I got to see almost everyday, have always supported me so that I could face my struggles. Their trust and support have encouraged me to give my best to the job I am committed. Also our little angles, who come to our preschool on Mondays to Fridays, have been making my life brighter and more colorful. Working at NGO to help people for good cause is very special because it made myself grown a little personally and professionally and gave me precious life experiences that I would not get while sitting in school and college. It can also make you to be satisfied and grateful with everything you have right now, because someone else out there are fighting for their life to get healthy food, a proper house or some money to pay for better education.
Unfortunately, my time at FMCH Indonesia comes to an end this year as I am trying to pursue my dream in far away land by the beginning of 2016. But however that is not an ending for me to help FMCH to achieve the goals. By starting this fundraising to support the works at FMCH Indonesia, I want to celebrate my opportunity to pursue my dream but I would not make it without your help. So, a little amount of your money for donation means a lot to the vulnerable families that FMCH Indonesia has been working with to get better health and education and to fight malnutrition.
Best regards,
Retno
