Story

TEXT TRKE43£2, £5 OR £10 TO 70070 TO DONATE NOW.

Rhys is 4 years old and has complex medical needs.  He has global development delay, a bilateral squint and is non verbal.  He has had a traumatic life so far, being frequently admitted to hospital and has continuous bacterial infections only managed by antibiotics. He has recently been assessed to be performing at the level of a 12 to 18 month old and is under special care at GOSH.

Rhys is a happy brave little boy. His nickname is Smiler !

We have purchased a music system and special headphones (£392.00) contributed £863.00 towards a wheelchair, £160.00 towards a seating system so he can eat with his family, a once in a life time mini break to Disneyland, Paris for the whole family  £4700.00 and a Tom Cat Trike which will enable him to exercise his limbs at £2700.00.

We like to be able to offer our families continuous support and now Rhys desperately needs a specialist bed that the local authority will not fund. This bed would enable him to have a safe area to sleep or when he needs calming time. His mum has severe health problems herself and is finding it increasingly difficult to look after her son, as he has no safe space and needs constantly monitoring as he is in danger of harming himself.

Please help us to raise the money for Rhys bed as it will not only improve his life but will make life so much easier for his loving family.

The Safespace System has been designed as a versatile sleep and relaxation space for anyone who may be unsafe in an ordinary room.  It was designed for those with autism, epilepsy, behaviours which challenge and profound learning difficulties.  Please visit www.safespace .co uk to learn more about this life changing sleep system.
